Title I News

May 2017

Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Dionne, Mrs. Kenny, and Ms. Thatcher, CES’s Title I Staff, are excited to be providing supplemental services to our students.  I hope they share with their parents what we do each day.

We had a very successful Title I Conference on Thursday, April 6 at WMRHS.  Over 100 parents and teachers enjoyed the keynote speakers and the delicious meal.  We look forward to our 18th annual conference in April 2018!

The Family Literacy Night held on Thursday, April 13 in conjunction with Colebrook Reads and Head Start was well attended.  The parents listened to Gina Welch talk about the importance of reading to and with your children, and the children enjoyed their time with the members of the Key Club.  Door prizes were given out to parents, and each child who attended was able to choose two free books.

Our Summer Learning Camp, formerly known as summer school, is in the planning process and there will be a parent meeting about it on Wednesday, May 10 from 6:00-7:00 in the CES Cafeteria for Title I parents in grades Kindergarten to Four.  The dates for Summer Learning Camp are Monday–Thursday, the weeks of July 3, 10 and 17 from 8:00-11:30 with no camp on Tuesday, July 4.

A Title I Parent/Guardian Survey will be sent home with the youngest child in your family soon.  I strongly urge you to fill this out and send it back to me so that we can hear your questions and concerns about the Title I program.
